Editorial standards
How I research and write, what the pieces are and are not, how I correct mistakes and what my interests are.

How pieces are produced
I research and draft the pieces on this site with AI assistance. Then I, Frank Vitetta, review and edit them before publication. I am responsible for everything published here.
AI assistance does not change the standard a piece has to meet. If a claim cannot be traced to a source I opened and read, I cut it.
Sourcing
Every factual claim links to a source. Primary sources come first. That means legislation.gov.uk, GOV.UK, the regulator’s own guidance (Ofcom, the ICO, the NCSC) and vendor documentation. Each piece ends with a “Sources” list of the pages used and the date they were checked.
I do not invent statistics, quotations, case studies, test results or personal anecdotes. I paraphrase sources and quote no more than a short phrase directly.
Not legal advice
This is analysis and opinion. It is not legal advice. It is not a security assessment of any particular organisation either. Pieces on legal subjects describe what the official sources say. They do not tell readers whether they are compliant. If a decision depends on the answer, take professional advice.
Opinion is labelled as opinion, usually with “my view” or “my reading”.
Dates and updates
UK regulation moves. Each piece shows the date it was published and the date it was last updated. It also states the date on which its sources were checked. Treat commencement dates and deadlines as correct on that date. Follow the source links for the current position.
Corrections
If a piece contains a factual error, I correct it in the text. I add a dated correction note saying what was changed. I do not make corrections silently. Updates that add new information without correcting an error change the “last updated” date.
If you spot a mistake, send it through the contact page. I will look at it.
Conflicts of interest
I work commercially in search marketing. I founded LLM Scout, a platform that tracks how brands appear in answers from AI models. I also founded Code Scout, a free desktop AI coding agent. So I have an interest in those subjects. If a piece touches on one of them, such as marketing rules, AI visibility tools or AI coding tools, the piece says so.
I also use this site to offer my own paid work as an AI consultant. That means AI readiness and governance reviews, AI implementation and training (see the hire page).
The site carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links. Nobody pays to be mentioned.
Same-owner disclosure
I also own and write the following sites. They cover different subjects and are listed here so readers know they share an owner.
- frankvitetta.com (AI search and SEO)
- frankvitetta.co (artificial intelligence)
- frankvitetta.net (big data)
